The Wicklow Adventure Race, April 2010

Updated on April 18, 2010

18th April 2010 - The Wicklow Adventure race (WAR) was held in Wicklow starting in Glendalough and covering a large part of the Wicklow mountains.

The course started with a run up the Spink mountain and back via the old mine workings, then a cycle from Glendalough to Lough Dan for a Kayak up and down the Lough. This was the followed by a return cycle to Glendalough for the shorter "Sports" race, for the competitors in the "Full" WAR there waited a cycle up to Balinastoe for a trot around the woods, Djouce and White's hill before getting back on their bike and cycling back to Glendalough via the Sally Gap .

Due to a late call up we only covered the Kayak, Djouce hill run and the return cycle for the WAR race.

The complete gallery of over 900 images from the 2010 WAR available here, for people with too much time on their hands.
